The Beacon is well known to the denizens of Tunbridge Wells, but somewhat less familiar to outsiders, which probably suits the locals just fine, as we'd want to keep this place to ourselves too. Just up the hill from the centre of town, the Beacon is a fine Victorian villa with a magnificent prospect overlooking the leafy High Rocks area. The pub is a comfortable, friendly place, with a lot to offer: excellent beers (Harvey's, Larkins and Landlord on the pumps), cheery service, pretty good food, accommodation and acres of terraces to enjoy them in and take in the views. When the weather's not so good, things are just as good indoors: the pub has a modern, bright, cosy interior (quite a good collection of knickknacks including a lot of vintage radios), with real fires and there's entertainment with frequent live music. It's a popular place for weddings and there are conference facilities, so you might want to ring ahead, if you want avoid such occasions. But if the weather's fine and you fancy fine ales, good food and a grand view, we can think of few better pubs for this, anywhere.

my friend and I went for a meal recently and were far from impressed by the appalling service we recieved. The member of staff that served us was both extremally rude and patronising. We were not even thanked for our order at any point throughout the whole meal which i thought was disgusting customer service and the food was both expensive and tasteless. After our meal my friend and I decided to have a coffee before I drove back to West Sussex after which point our bill was literally slung on the table without a word, it was after this that i decided to complain although nothing was done.
