Housed in one of the gatehouses by Euston bus station - the last remnants of the long gone Euston Arch - we first encountered this one as the (ladies only) Glass Bar. The newly reopened Euston Tap couldn't be more different, setting itself out as a mecca for cask ale and craft beers. It's a fair call, what eight or so rotating ales and up to twenty keg beers - not forgetting two giant fridges, packed solid with bottled beers. There'll be something here for the even the most esoteric beer hunter - when we last looked in the cask ales included Ossett Big Red and Bristol Stout, not regular sights on the taps of London's pubs. The owners have done their best with the tricky space they have to work with: all the taps, for example, are set into the wall at the back of the bar and the upstairs has been appointed in as comfortable a fashion as possible. In scale (of interior) and scope (of beers) the obvious London comparison for this one is The Rake in Borough Market. The same problems exist: sure, you can drink your way through a raft of interesting beers, but how comfortable is the experience? Given its proximity to Euston Station, this one quickly fills of an evening, so a quick look up the spiral staircase to the upstairs is often needed. Given the small size of this one, if you're after food you'll be ordering a takeaway pizza to turn up; the only toilet is upstairs and the ascent of the spiral staircase gets a bit more tricky once the high-strength beers kick in. All in all though, The Euston Tap is a welcome, independent, addition to the London pub landscape: our advice on visiting is the same for those travelling on from Euston station itself - get there early to get a seat.

Well if you like beer this is the place to be. 8 Cask ales were on along with a load of keg beers from around the world. Hundreds of bottle beers. Very busy but ok as there is a large outside area. If you only drink fosters etc then this is not the place for you.

Keep your eyes peeled: this one's in the small gatehouse structure just outside Euston mainline station, just in front of the bus station. If you're walking from Euston, it's the gatehouse on your right.
