The Navigator, Ware
While first appearances made this pub seem OK, a clue to the other side of the Navigator came upon a visit to the toilets. Well refurbished at one point, one of the cubicles was unusable due to unattended blockages, while the back of the doors were etched with enough unpleasant words and ideas to make Charlotte Roche blush. Welcome to the worst of both worlds: provincial, cheap and aspirationally trendy. We suspect there is good reason why it's sometimes known locally as the 'Chavigator'. Still, visiting on a bank holiday afternoon meant that any evening annoyances were a few hours away yet. Inside it's a big, modern place with plenty of nooks and crannies to hide away. Football was being shown in two areas, but was pretty unobtrusive. There's a nice outside area overlooking the canal which runs alongside and the drinks were almost Wetherspoon cheap. The food, too was inexpensive, but you do get what you pay for - there are no Michelin stars coming the way of the Navigator.

How to find the The Navigator pub
The Navigator is at the end of the high street off the mini roundabout, next to the canal.
