King William IV, West Horsley

A very nice pub, a true “local”. Very good Sunday roast: reasonably priced, good quality meat, choice of 3 types and good range (and quantity!) of vegetables. Has a range of toys for small children. Good range of beer, pool table etc but all sufficiently removed from the main meal area so the two types of patrons won’t bother each other without making one group feel they’re intruding. Decent range of beer for a small country pub. The pub was founded in 1830 (hence the name), and feels like an old pub, with the low door, and time warped beams. Floor is slightly uneven, stone pavement, and has open fires. For summer there are tables and umbrellas to eat and drink out the back, and there are distinct summer and winter menus. A welcoming pub despite being part of a smallish village. Well worth a visit!
