If you're not a local or an avid walker, you'll be forgiven for not having heard of the handsome Derbyshire village of Youlgreave. Hidden away in one of the remoter parts of the Peak District, it's a hardworking farming village, that's set in excellent walking country. And it's these two audiences that the George Hotel serves very well. With good local beer, cheap and plentiful food, simple accommodation and a host of social activities this pub has most things you need, whether you're a rambler or a local.

i,ve been visiting this little gem for many years now, always a warm welcome, good food, drink and banter. Not many like this these days.

Great place to base yourself for sight seeing in the peak
