Boswell's Bar
RIP: Boswells Bar
Our final review:
"Technically this is the hotel bar for the Mandeville Hotel, but its described as a local ‘pub’, mainly for the benefit of any tourists. Despite this, it looks like a pub and entering from the side entrance meant I didn’t realise there was a hotel attached until later. Curiously sparse for tables, it was still very easy to find a seat, as the place was somewhat empty, despite being Friday evening. The service was impeccable: genuinely friendly and helpful. Pleasingly, food was still being served and although a simple menu, it was wonderfully prepared and reasonably priced. There were a number of rather eccentric locals to keep us amused and on top of that, the toilets (in cleanliness terms) were a joy to behold. Despite no real ale - Caffreys was the nearest they had - this isn’t a bad ‘pub’ at all."

So, what’s become of it?
Underwent major refurbishment and now a good looking, but expensive, restaurant.
