To some, the Stag's Head might look a little grim on the outside - it's a stern(ish) 1930's facade, set in a fairly nondescript 1930's office building, but inside you'll find a pretty friendly and popular local, with a homely, panelled 30's style interior, decent ale and friendly service. The two hand pumps dispense a pair of well-kept ales - Pride plus a guest (Yellow Hammer, on the last visit) accompanied by a reasonable, but average range of booze to cater for other tastes. It's pleasant, comfy and not usually overcrowded, as it's just that little bit further away from Oxford Street. There will be a sudden crush when the offices roundabout empty out, but all-in-all the Stag's Head is handy afterwork pub and a shopper's retreat - and it's been like that for as long as we've known it (and that's a long time).
