The Medicine Bar chain is apparently no more, with the Great Eastern Street branch closing recently, now followed by this one. It's been replaced by Albert & Pearl, dreamt up by the same people in charge of the Old Queens Head on nearby Essex Road. Their PR company has done a sterling job, as reviews have sprung up in the freesheets already. Essentially aiming at the same young, stylish - and allegedly upmarket - N1 cocktail drinkers that the Medicine Bar hoped to attract, we'll go and have a Whisky Sour there soon.
