picture of Duke of CambridgeJust off the hard-to-reach Battersea Park Road, with its mix of boutiques and Estate Agents, the upmarket atmosphere of the Duke of Cambridge accurately reflects the upmarket aspirations of the area and its inhabitants. Stripped out - but not brutally so - the mix of original features, wooden tables, artwork and tiled floors makes it look almost continental. Still, this is London, so a good choice of Young's ales are available, along with a rather pricey food menu. Service could be better, with an unfortunate mix ineptitude and arrogance, saved more than once by the one highly competent barman. There are a few good pubs in the area and this is certainly ranks among them, but if you don't live nearby, there are equally good places to discover just that little bit nearer a tube station.
