how to find it:

Monument: leave the station by the Gracechurch Street exit and walk up Gracechurch Street for a couple of minutes. You'll see it on your left pretty soon. Bank: leave by Cornhill exit,walk up Cornhill to the junction with Gracechurch Street, turn right, walk down a bit and it's on your right.

Another gigantic Wetherspoon conversion, this one of a monumental banking hall. And whilst this one doesn't have the aesthetic charm of some nearby competitors, this place impresses with it's Stalinist proportions (note too the giant TV screen, in accordance with the grandiose scale of the pub). There's the usual Wetherspoon range of drink and food on offer at the usual unbeatable Wetherspoon prices, which probably explains the advanced state of inebriation of the clientele when we arrived late one evening here - apparently we're just not used to cheap drink in the City. With Wetherspoon's excellent (some might say challenging) range of beers it's a pretty reasonable pub for the area (though we've never seen this one when there's been a game on the big screen).
