picture of Boot
A locals' pub in a back street near King's Cross, the Boot is not a bad pub in itself: decent beer, a pool table, sport on the telly, and food is served all day. The location can have its drawbacks, though: when we visited on a Sunday afternoon, and sat outside to enjoy the warm weather, we suffered the attentions of passing down-and-outs; probably just bad luck. Mind you, the pub did, reportedly, serve as base for anti-Catholic Gordon rioters in 1780, so who knows.
