Don't let the rustic connotations of 'Tavern' lead you astray - this is full on gastropubbery. To be fair, 'Bar & Restaurant' gets prominence on the exterior, so you can't say you haven't been warned. At least the interior slightly differs from the gastropub norm, with a light airy look getting the nod over the usual stripped out pale wood style. The restaurant specialises in such delicacies as Pan Fried Ling or Royal Bream (there's obviously a different class of Bream to be had in Notting Hill, y'see) whilst the bar includes that standard piece of gastropub kit, the nameless lager taps. Certainly offers something different to the south side of Notting Hill Gate, though it's not really one we'll be rushing back to.
