It's still early days for the new Globe, but there are signs that this pub in the heart of Covent Garden has reopened with a dash of independent character. All seems pretty standard behind the bar (both food and drink options seem unsurprising), but the décor suggests this one's either still finishing off its refit or its going for a look some of the Shoreditch bars might pass over for being too out there (pictures resting not hanging on the wall?). A very easy pub to overlook (it's almost swallowed up by the larger Marquis of Anglesey next door) the Globe - though small - can offer up a decent chance of a seat. It was also on our visit playing host to a fair range of punters; always a good sign to look for in a pub. Perhaps not an outstanding pub, but for this part of town, it does the job.
