picture of Yacht
The Yacht is often a better choice for a tipple along this stretch of the river, as, usually, it tends to be less crowded. The beer is good - usually four beers on the hand pumps - and there's a reasonable wine list of mostly new world varieties, to support a range of reasonably priced food, with main courses for less than £10. The pub has a welcoming atmosphere, but it can get crowded here at weekend when families come for lunch. If you're lucky enough to get a window table, a view from Borthwick Wharf in Deptford around to the Millennium Dome awaits. The Yacht may not be the ultimate pub in Greenwich, but it's a decent enough boozer all the same.
