Housed in a building designed by Joseph Paxton, architect of the Crystal Palace, this is an attractive pub worthy of a visit. Inside, you will find a relaxed atmosphere accompanied by the usual Young's ales behind the bar. The pub features some interesting photographs of the Crystal Palace fire on the walls, whilst in summer there are barbecues in the large beer garden.

Fully agree with Marty. A nice pub ruined to serve mediocre food. Still nice to sit outside if you ignore the play area. Bah humbug.

A once great locals pub ruined by refurbishment. It broke my heart to see what has happened to it. Drinkers have been marginalised, shunted to a tiny overcrowded area to make way for more dining space (though hardly anyone was at the tables when I visited). Beer was still OK, though overpriced. All very sad.
