A tiny pub with a very well preserved Victorian interior and well worth a visit at quiet times to have a shufty. For years, whenever we were in Soho, we'd usually pop in here, but as time goes on we find ourselves doing this less and less. It still does a decent pint of Guinness and the other beer's pretty good - with Pride, Landlord etc on the hand pumps, but the atmosphere is not what it used to be. The whole area has changed and has become far more touristy - Soho is not the dodgy area it once was - the crowds thronging the pavement around it in summer bear witness to this. And as the Dog & Duck is now part of the Nicholson's chain there's more emphasis on the 'traditional fish and chips' and less on the beers. Oh, and a picture of Gladstone has been replaced with one of Henry VIII. Is this a good thing?
