picture of Rose and Crown
The Rose & Crown feels like a pub that's undergone major surgery, but whether it has regained consciousness or not is unclear. On the one hand, its black and white pictures and wood furnishings are the classic signs of an old-fashioned pub; but these features have now been shouted down by a massive TV screen for football matches and an unusually high number of one-armed bandits. Add to this Thai food, a bog-standard range of beers and a fistful of Breezers and you have one confused pub - even Quincy might struggle to puzzle this one out. On the plus side, the pool table was available and not surrounded by locals; if you fancy a game, the Rose & Crown may worth a try.

Staff are very rude. They rather be flirting with the regular punters, smoking outside than serve customers that have been waiting over 15 minutes to get served. This pub has gone downhill since new owners took over.

Fair comments above, although I am not a local, what isn't mentioned is the quality of the Thai food, it is superb and very fairly priced, they have had some slightly iffy bar staff in the past but the current staff are friendly. They also have a area at the back for eating in larger groups or when busy, can be a little drafty but well worth it.
