A compact little pub that's been a barometer for pub trends for a while (translation: it's changed hands a few times). It's been an organic pub, a gastropub and a rough boozer, but seems to have settled down now as a pub that keeps things simple on the food and drink front but goes a bundle on the entertainment it offers its punters. DJs, acoustic nights and pub quizzes (thankfully not all on the same night) are all on offer, but on the nights they're not, one of London's best - and free - jukeboxes more than compensates. Gastrophiles and real ale spotters might not find much here to set the pulses racing, but the rest of us will probably be having too much of a good time to notice.
