how to find it:

Take the Tooley Street exit from London Bridge station and turn left toward the bridge. Stay on Tooley Street as it bends to right and head for the passage under the bridge. Pass under the bridge and the pub is just ahead on the left.

In the shadow of Southwark Cathedral, you'd think this place would be packed with visitors, but by and large, it isn't. It's a Nicholson's so you get the fairly decent drink and food that the chain knocks out to the punters and there's a decent beer garden too. Early evening in summer will see the aforementioned garden populated with local workers, but they soon disappear too London Bridge and parts south east. A handy place if you're in transit upriver from the Tower Bridge theme park,
