how to find it:

Take the Great Eastern Street exit out of Old Street tube (exit 3) and wander down Old Street for a minute or two. The pub is on the right by the junction with Great Eastern Street.

It's had a bit of a paint job, but it doesn't appear to have changed that dramatically. When the people behind the Aquarium club next door took on this pub, we thought Bar Aquarium would be a pure pre-club hang out, all expensive sofas and loungey trimmings. However, despite a new dining room and redecorated interior (including the eponymous aquarium), there's still a pub feel - with a games room on the first floor including a dart board, pool table, table football and a proper pinball machine as well as Sky Sports on the telly. It's not a small place either: you should be able to find a bit of space in the main bar, or failing that there's another bar - and a roof terrace - upstairs. Catering as much for those winding down after work as for those gearing up for a big night out, Bar Aquarium attracts a mixed crowd and manages to stand out in an area brimming with pubs and bars.
