The Anglesea Arms, Chelsea  

The sort of classy, slightly tweedy, pub you'd expect in this neck of the woods, it's still worth a look even if you don't have a flat in Chelsea Harbour or a nice mews house in Kensington. There's a cosy main bar for the dark nights of winter; a tree lined beer garden for the summer. And if you're feeling especially swish, there's an elegant dining room at the back. The fine range of ales - there's usually Adnams, Pride and a range of regular guests on call on the six hand pumps - and excellent bar meals are the focus of attention here: no jukebox or games machines in sight. The pub can fill up rapidly with Bright Young Things at the weekend, often spilling out onto the pavement, so it's maybe not ideal for large groups. Definitely one of those pubs that's worth nicking off from work to visit out of peak hours though.
