From Angel Tube: turn left out of the station, cross over at the lights and go down St. John St. into Roseberry Avenue. Turn left into Rosoman Street and immediately right into Exmouth Market. It's about 100 yard on the right on the corner with Spafield Street. From Farringdon, walk up Farringdon Road, crossing Clerkenwell Road and keep going until you reach the junction with Roseberry Avenue (opposite Farringdon Fire Station) where you turn right into Exmouth Market. The pub is ahead on your left on the corner about 75 yards down.

The Exmouth Arms is a pub of the old school, a place where blokes get together after work (or at lunch times) for a pint or two and and a chinwag or maybe to watch the footy on the telly. It might be in a prime location in trendy Islington, but it steadfastly refuses to throw in the towel and "upgrade" to become a boozer of the typical noughties style so popular round here. Normally we'd salute such resolve, but truth be told, it's been a bit of an up-and-down experience coming here in the last few months. The management has changed recently(more than once, we're lead to believe), which actually hasn't changed the service or the atmosphere too much, but when you're cheerfully told by the staff that almost every drink you're asking for is off, then it ends up being a bit of a pointless visit. You're forced to leave and experience a more 21st century pint at a pub nearby. Come on Exmouth Arms, don't give up on us now, get some beer in, tidy up the place and let's get back to basics - haven't you been watching Ashes to Ashes?
