From Victoria: Take the Victoria Street exit and turn right. Turn right again into Vauxhall Bridge Road and proceed down until you reach Rochester Row. Turn left and take the third left into Emery Hill Street. Turn right into Greencoat Place and the pub is ahead on the left. From St. James: Take the Broadway exit and turn right into Broadway. Cross Victoria Street carry on down Strutton Ground. Turn right at the roundabout and right again into Artillery Row. Take the next left at Greencoat Place and the pub is ahead on the right.
Although it's in the heart of Victoria, this pub is far enough off the beaten track to discourage all but the most inquisitive of tourists. The Greencoat Boy does pretty reasonable beer, the Bombardier went down pretty well when we were last there. As well as a large downstairs bar, it has tables outdoors for a sunny afternoon's drinking, though these have been staked out for the smokers since the ban. If you want to get away from the crowds on Victoria street, why not give it a go. Just a word of warning: it does get busy at knocking-off time.

I see this place was in the news for refusing to serve a group of gay people. For shame.

What's happened to this place. Some really bad management decisions that's what and a smell that just won't go away. Shame really. Do yourself a favour and find another boozer Victoria's not short of them.

In the early 70's, I worked almost across the road in Artillery Row. We used to have lunch here about once a fortnight - very good. Good to know it's still there!
