picture of Lord Hood
Despite its proximity to central Greenwich, the Lord Hood is firmly a locals' pub. Although a little scruffy around the edges, it has a genuineness lacking in many of the tourist-oriented places nearby. There's nothing unusual in the way of drink here - although it's decent enough - and only pub grub in terms of food, but if it's just a pint you want, the Hood is usually worth a go. Every so often, the Hood has gets threatened with demolition and with the demise of the Cricketers in 2005, the Hood is now the last locals' pub in central Greenwich and it would be a shame to see it disappear. Update - the Lord Hood has dodged the wrecking ball again and all is set fair (at least until after the recession).
