how to find it:

Greenwich: turn left out of the station, cross over the road and walk along for a minute before turning right into Royal Hill. Walk up here for a few minutes and you will find the pub on the right, next to Richard I. Cutty Sark, turn right out of the exit and walk up to Creek Road (by the Wetherspoon pub). Cross Creek Road, turn left and follow the road round, up the hill past the church, towards the hotel. Cross Greenwich High Road and walk a short distance (past the market, if it's on) until you get to Royal Hill - the you'll see the clock tower of the Borough Hall on it. Walk up the hill and follow the road round until you get to the pub.

picture of Greenwich Union
Opening up next door to a fine pub like the Richard I can't have been easy, but the Greenwich Union pulled it off. It's a smart, spacious place that's modern and has a relaxed vibe. The bar offers a unique range of superb beer from the nearby Meantime Brewery, including raspberry beer, blonde ale and chocolate stout. When unable to make up our minds, a friendly barmaid gave us some free samples of different beers - excellent service matched by the enthusiasm of the staff for their wares. If the draught beers don't tempt you, there's a good selection of bottled beer in the fridge. A varied gastro-esque menu has main courses for around £8. Greenwich Union is somewhere that you could happily bring friends who aren't really into pubs. The only negative can be the abundance of parents and push chairs around at the weekends, so if kids don't induce a warm sentimental glow, then you might choose to do your boozing elsewhere at these times. This is really nit-picking, though, as the Greenwich Union is a top place.

Still a nice place, but not quite such an essential visit as it used to be due to the availability of Meantime beers elsewhere.
only one comment, so far on this pub - why not add your own?
