picture of Vanbrugh
The Vanbrugh (the Tavern appendage has been dropped) is a pleasant neighbourhood local with a certain charm. Recently, it has undergone a makeover. A new sign and paintwork outside, some trendifying interior touches, designed to attract younger and wealthier locals in the area. Personally, we preferred it before but it's still a decent pub. There's live music, but it's not an ideal venue for it - as it tends to get bunged in the narrow back room. But the award-winning, lush beer garden at the back is ideal for a sunny day.

I visited the Vanbrugh a couple of weeks ago. It was recommended to me by a close friend who lives nearby. I took a group of my collegues and we were all increadibly impressed by the place. The food, atmosphere, decor, serice and beer garden were all of the highest standard which led to a very relaxed and enjoyable enjoyable evening. I will certainly be going there again as it is in my opinion one of the best places to eat and drink south of the Thames.
only one comment, so far on this pub - why not add your own?
