how to find it:

From East Putney tube, get on to the Upper Richmond Road and head toward Putney Hill. Cross that, and keep going for another 10 mins. An easier way is from Putney BR station: exit and turn left up the hill. Cross the road and take the first on your right down Upper Richmond Road. The pub is about a 10 minute walk away.

With a name like that we were expecting a Bedouin style interior and a hookah pipe at each table. Or at least an elderly roue in the corner recounting his exploits in the fleshpots of Marrakech. Sadly, no. And as it's a bit out of the way it's been a while since we were last here, and the differences are marked, although a lot of it hasn't changed: it's still a smallish Greene King pub with their beers on the taps, but it's had a bit of an upgrade, with comfy chairs and sofas and a marked increase in the prices on the food menu, with a move toward the gastro side of the fence (last time we were in, Sunday lunch was only £4.95 - it's now £10.95!). There's nothing wrong with it, though most of the tellies have gone; it still does a nice pint and it still meets the needs of its regulars.
