how to find it:

Leave St. Paul's tube and head towards Cheapside take the first left and head up Foster Lane, you'll soon see the place on your left.

picture of The City PipeWe know Davy's is a wine bar really, but you can get pints in here, hence its inclusion. The old City PipeVaults was a traditional spit and sawdust wine bar just a short distance away from the current one. Redevelopment meant they had to move it, so they went for a more modern look, trouble is they didn't completely change the furniture so it all looks a bit incongruous. You can get Davy's wallop etc and the Guinness is OK, but you wouldn't really seek this place out for the drink. It's a typical City bar, full of people unaware (or couldn't care less) about anyone else on the planet and gets more strident towards the end of the week.
