Pepys Bar is part of the adjoining Novotel and is open to nonresidents. The bar area is a circular space which looks as though it is cleaned and dusted several times a day. Hotel bars are odd places at the best of times; on our visit, the two TVs were showing CNN and a kids' channel called 'Milkshake', producing a weird conjunction of George Bush Jnr. and Casper the Friendly Ghost. In terms of drink, Staropramen and London Pride are on tap, and there's a decent selection of malts on offer too. Pepys' location might make it a handy place to meet friends, but otherwise there are better places nearby.
