how to find it:
From Wandsworth Town BR follow Old York Road until it becomes Armoury Way, then Armoury Way until turning right along Putney Bridge Road. Keep walking past The Hope Poles pub and you'll see The Queen Adelaide on your left.
The Queen Adelaide is a large Young's pub that has played host to a younger crowd of drinkers for quite a while now. Since our last review, not entirely unsurprisingly, its gone rather upmarket, with an eating area and gastropub food prices now present; words like 'Charcuterie' now appear on the menu, along with an unnecessary 10% service change. There's a good selection of Young's ales, as you'd expect, but we challenge you to find anywhere else which describes Dry Blackthorn cider as having 'bushels of flavour'. Luckily, however, this linguistic pretension hasn't extended to the place being horribly stripped out yet; consequently the atmosphere is relaxed, with the bonus of a very nice garden, complete with 'jumbrellas'. Ultimately a decent upmarket pub, its one of the more pleasant places in the area.
