A rangy old Victorian pub, traditional in both decor and character. Due to its size, it can look rather on the empty side of things, although the regular live music at weekends does its best to fill the place up. The last few years has seen a few of the pubs in Tooting smarten themselves up to appeal to a younger crowd; as long as this one stays under the Jack Beard's banner there's little chance this one will follow suit (although a spring clean would be nice).
