With choice memorabilia throughout the pub, including a brass ships's telegraph (which tells the engine room to stop or go), this pub does a lot of things right. The friendly staff, decent beer and genial locals make it a rather relaxed and easy going place. There's two menus: one traditional pub grub with all meat sourced from the same farm in Somerset, and one providing a decent range of Indian cuisine. We've heard good things about the Indian food on offer, but as yet, we've yet to sample it for ourselves - we like the fact that you get a choice between a sausage sandwich or chicken tikka masala. That said, the Friday all you can eat Indian buffet sounds like something worth investigating. In our opinion, it's the sort of pub ideally suited to an afternoon of slothful drinking, which is hardly a chore with the range of Fuller's beers on tap.
