So this is what's at the end of the Piccadilly Line... we had half expected the terminus at Cockfosters to be marked by a waterfall a la the edge of the world, so I suppose we should look on this pub and restaurant first with relief rather than anything else. It might not be worth a journey from west London for but this place does have a certain charm. It's helped by a walk from the tube that's almost rural England in miniature (Church, overgrown graveyard, Cricket ground) and the striking initial view you get of the pub (not often we've seen a pub with a clock tower). From the exterior we thought we'd stumbled across a polo club, and a sense of grandeur is carried on in the bar - all mock country house leather chairs, family crests and wooden walls. Luckily, the fare on offer is a match for the interior. There's an good supply of ales on tap and some fine Thai food to go along with them. Not really the sort of place for a Big Night Out, but once you get settled into one of the armchairs here you'll find it very difficult to leave.

This is definitely the best pub around, well in the Barnet / Potters Bar area at least - great staff, excellent service and lovely bar food at a reasonable price. Drink prices can't compete with the likes of JD Wetherspoon but the difference is that you get a decent drink in a local pub with a great atmosphere. And it's the little touches that make a huge difference - the bottled beers are always perfectly cold and every drink seems to be served in the right glass!
only one comment, so far on this pub - why not add your own?
