I'm sure the locals who come here love it, though newcomers may find this one slightly overbearing. It didn't go quiet when we walked in, though the disputes over the pool table didn't suggest too jolly a boozer. If the prospect of a video jukebox battling for supremacy with Sky Sports isn't your cup of tea, the beer garden at the back offers a little respite in the warmer weather. As for other entertainments, when we popped in a forthcoming "Dirty Doctors and Naughty nurses" night was promised and on Friday night discos are presided over by Howard Marks (surely not the Howard Marks?). Not that awful a place, though one perhaps best left to the regulars.

This is one of the very few pubs in Wood Green where you can expect to hear music instead of muzak - or nothing. Nowadays they have a 'live' DJ on a Friday night. Pity he plays only one kind of sound all night long, monotonous 'soft' rap. I remember when music was diverse.
