With so many pubs in Soho even the ardent drinker can find it hard to distinguish between them, but nevertheless Nellie Dean stands as one of the better places to drink. First off, it doesn't feel as corporatised or chainy as other places - you won't find the exact same menu as that similar pub up the road. The service is spot on too; people are genuinely friendly and everyone seems good humoured. Considering standing outside in the road at the vaguest sign of warm weather is a Soho pastime, the Nellie also benefits from being next to a dead-end, meaning punters can spread a little bit further without risk of white van related death. The knock-on effect is that while everyone's outside there's a greater chance of getting a seat indoors. A good selection of ales, a cosy plant-filled interior and an upstairs bar complete with pool table and jukebox make this a pub we recommend.
