From Edgware Road: leave by the Old Marylebone Road exit, cross Old Marylebone Road and then head down Harcourt Street. Follow Harcourt Street onto York Street and you'll soon see the pub on your left. From Baker Street: cross Marylebone Road, go down Baker Street and take the second right down York Street. Walk all the way down York Street and you should see the pub on your right. From Marylebone: Turn right out of the station then left onto Harewood Avenue. Cross the Marylebone Road and continue along Enford Street and the pub is on the right hand corner at the end.
Were many tears shed when the Marylebone Bar & Kitchen shut up shop? We had a certain fondness for the place: its sub-DJ Bar atmosphere didn't exactly stand out in an area rich in idiosyncratic boozers, but it was a pub you could actually relax and feel comfortable in. It's now The Temperance: a pub with dining room from the people behind The Endurance and The Perseverance. Gone is the loungey, lazy feel of the previous pub: the Temperance (perhaps understandably, given its name) has a more sober feel, its ground floor bar kitted out with rather formal furnishings - so much so, we thought we were in the dining room (that's upstairs, by the way). The two ales on tap, Adnam's and Greene King IPA, are a good indication that the drinks on offer here don't stray too far from the norm. And whilst a limited bar menu is available downstairs, it appears you have to go upstairs if you're after something more substantial. The jukebox in the corner suggested there's a spot of character lurking in this one, but on our visit at least, the Temperance didn't convince us as a place for a relaxing drink. It's okay, and obviously caters for a certain type of customer, but we're not going to rush back.

My sister's came over from Ireland and we were recommended to try The Temperance out.
We wanted to go somewhere where we could get a picky snack and have drinks.
We tried it's Tapas menu and got a lovely bottle of Red(which i may say they do offer a great variety).
The Tapas was just great and just enough. I think it was £10 for 3 dishes which is very reasonable for London and the portions are very good.
The atmosphere was just perfect for us as there is background music but not too loud that you can't hear each other, so we ended up staying there till closing time.
One thing i would say is the seating is a little bit too formal for a bar but not too much to not make you want to go there. All in all we had a lovely time there and next time my sister's are over we will go back there.
