Back in the 90's, the Kings Head was a great, traditional little boozer in the middle of nowhere. However, after a remake a few years ago, things are quite different. Decorated in pastel hues of cream and green and with numerous fireplaces, it was a rather pleasant place, with a few interesting object d'art here and there - even if they're superglued to the shelves. The food was fine and they prided themselves on their numerous guest real ales, which were competently kept, albeit far too cold. However, it's all a little too nice. The rough edges which can give character to a pub are missing. So devoid is it of passion, it could have been designed by a computer. In reality, there's nothing wrong with the place - especially compared to some other pubs in the area - but it's a shame the creativity is missing.
