Is it too harsh to liken Plumstead High Street to a Stations of the Cross for depressing drinking? A procession of beaten-up looking boozers unfolds as you walk east from the train station. Still, O'Dowds is not so bad. It is merely a very basic pub with ordinary drink and decor for an older local crowd.
