picture of Goldsmiths TavernIs this the new face of New Cross? The Goldsmiths is a spare, modern place with colourful décor and lots of natural light. It serves a decent range of beer (no real ale on tap but Spitfire and Bishops Finger in bottles). With tasty burgers and pizzas for under a fiver, this is one of the best New Cross pubs for food. The pub's diary is full too: salsa on Thursday, R B Fridays and DJs on Saturday nights. The large dance floor at the back makes all this possible, and the big-screen video jukebox is worth a punt too.
