Dirty Dick's, Bishopsgate  

This notorious City pub and tourist attraction underwent a facelift a few years ago, unfortunately eradicating all traces of the dive it once was. Its proximity to Liverpool Street Station makes it a popular last stop before getting the train home for many office workers. They serve vast amounts of lager, but can also pour a pint of Guinness and have the usual range of Young's excellent beers on tap. It tends to be very busy around lunch and immediately after work, but quietens down later. The downstairs bar, where all the interesting stuff used to be, can be hired and it now seems to be open at the weekends. There's also an upstairs bar which tends to be a bit quieter.
