how to find it:

From Turnpike Lane tube, walk towards the large sign for the bus garage but take the exit on your left. Once on the street you should be opposite the park. Turn left and walk down Green Lanes and you'll soon see it across the road from you.

It may be a marvellous building, but the experience inside at the Queen's Head hasn't always done it justice. There was a cleanup in 2008, introducing an over 21's policy and removing many of the undesirables, but it seems to be taking a while to build up a new clientele. The plethora of pool tables still seems to be the biggest draw, with the front section almost deserted the last time we looked in even though a Six Nations match was in full flow and a Premier League game about to kick-off. CAMRA members are unlikely to be among those rushing through the doors, we just hope they can find enough people to make it a success. With the Beaconsfield and Old Ale Emporium just two of the competition already catering for sports fans, maybe it needs a new approach.
