Go up the alleyway (Camden Passage) past the overpriced antique shops and you'll soon come to the place on your left.

Well, we'd say it's more of a restaurant/bar than bar/restaurant although there were no objections to us sitting down for just a few drinks. There's nothing special in the beer department - San Miguel/Guinness etc, but a range of Scandinavian liquors began to pique our interest. In the end the menu got the better of us and we had some pretty reasonable, interesting grub, such as meatballs with a glass of liqueur to pour over them/down your throat as you saw fit. We went on to try a cocktail or two, but even they had a Scandinavian twist. It's a relaxed place and the service is helpful and friendly and there's not a hint of plywood or flat-packs anywhere. We didn't find the Elk (apart form a few little antlers), but we guessed that the reclaimed floorboards cladding the walls were the eponymous woods. We can't wait for the owners to open up an Edinburgh branch, then they can call it - wait for it - Moose in the Hoose.
