This changed its name from the Cock Tavern several years ago but we're at a loss to explain the reason for its relatively new-found fame. Perhaps its proximity to the tube station, they adjoin each other, means that anyone going to Highbury can't have failed to notice it and word really has spread across the capital. The Famous Cock's location is the secret of its success, though while it may indeed prove to be a good meeting point, there are plenty of other options nearby. If you decide to stay the food and drink on offer won't break the bank or excite the senses. What it can provide is sport from its big screen and range of smaller TV's dotted around, and in all our visits we haven't had any reason to complain about the service at the bar. Now a smokers' necessity, a handy beer garden lurks out the back.
