Turn right from the tube and head south down Borough High Street. After a minute, you'll reach the pub on the right side.

picture of Ruse While not exactly outstanding - and indeed some might argue rather unattractive from the outside - Ruse isn't actually a bad place at all. Sure, it's more one for the locals, but that doesn't mean you can't come here and enjoy some cheap food or some football action from one of the two screens in peace. Having previously been aiming for the younger crowd, it seems to have grown up a bit now, with contemporary art on the walls and a warm ambience, not a million miles away from a hotel bar (and we don't mean that pejoratively on this occasion). So overall, while not a destination pub, its fine to pop in if you're thirsty. We also note they now have a sister pub ('Ruse Too') a short walk away on Law Street, which we'll review when we have the chance.
