picture of Abbey ArmsSometimes pubs are microcosms of their locations and, in this instance, the Abbey Arms nails this area: it's a cheap, basic boozer which does a job for locals. The massive rear beer garden (with play facilities) is where children run while their parents get the drinks in. The sort of place where you can feel life passing you by, in a land beyond All Bar Ones and frappucinos (at least until Crossrail arrives).
