how to find it:

The walk from Brent Cross tube, although only about 15-20 minutes, is only recommended to psychogeographic imitators of Iain Sinclair or Jean Rolin, as it comprises hugging the south side of the North Circular Road as closely as possible by means of a maze of bridges and subways, and, shortly after Staples Corner, turning left down Coles Green Road until you reach the pub. If traffic is flowing properly on the A406, it's probably more pleasant to get the 232 bus from the North Circular Road near to Brent Cross station instead. There are also several buses to the pub from Neasden town centre or Cricklewood.

picture of Ox and GateGiven its less than genial location, the Ox & Gate would have to be special to draw distance custom. In fact, it's completely unremarkable. Several TVs, reasonably priced pub grub and a big bar area will remind you of boozers from Southgate to Sydenham and in between. Fine for a drink if you're nearby, but strictly a two-pinter.
