Nowhere near as annoying as Cane - 'the DJ-led neighbourhood cocktail bar' it replaced (although as Cane was extremely annoying this barely counts as praise), Eclipse is mellower and maturer - or perhaps, just less busy than Cane used to be. There's still an emphasis on cocktails - both classics and original concoctions, including a series of 'NW6 specials'. Three draught lagers are available on tap at prices which are, by London standards, fairly outrageous but not quite overly extraordinarily outrageous. A few bottled beers are available, as are non-alcoholic cocktails, wines and (ludicrously overpriced) spirits. Still, Eclipse aspires towards being classy, rather than poncey. There's table service (which , unfortunately, can be far too lackadaisical) , bar snacks and meals, the music is agreeable and seating is for sitting on rather than for show. Eclipse kind of suggests the late 90s kids of West Hampstead have grown up, a bit, but still aren't overly demanding as regards drinking haunts. (DJs on Fridays and Saturday nights).
