picture of The RailwayClapham High Street on a Saturday night is a scene no different from many, repeated on provincial CCTV screens around the country on a weekend evening. The streets are thronged with the local bright young things, ducking from bar to bar hellbent on having a good time. And the Railway blends in perfectly with this scene. The moment you walk in you are assailed by a cacophonous blast of people screaming over the top of sound system. Upstairs it was slightly calmer and here, you merely had to shout. It is quieter at other times, but "relaxed vibe" is not adjective we'd apply at any time. There is a Thai menu and Sunday roasts too - a Clapham formula it seems, but when it's standing room only, you're unlikely to indulge. As to the drink on offer, you'd really only come here if you're a fan of shots or brightly coloured confections - the beer available being Grolsch, Carling, Caffrey's or Guinness.
