picture of BarcosaBarcosa has had more than a year to establish itself but appears to be struggling to convince the locals of its merits. It boasts a late licence and is situated two minutes from Highbury corner, though is usually barely half full. There is little obviously wrong with the place. It has pleasant decor, plants, artwork, unobtrusive music and friendly staff, though, despite all this, is somewhat lacking in atmosphere. The most interesting feature of the establishment is the ornate mosaic bar which depicts a snake, a relic from the pub's previous incarnation 'Tank'. An Indian menu is available during the week, though alas no chicken dishes and a shortage of rice on our last visit, while a reasonably priced roast is served on a Sunday.
