From Kentish Town tube, turn right and then head down Leighton Road. Keep going for a good five minutes before taking a right down Torriano Avenue. You'll soon see the pub.
Take a stroll around this residential patch of NW5 and what first strikes you are the friendly names of the local shops: Maria's Travel and Tours, Rita's Hair and Design and Susan's Mini-Market. As The Torriano is situated amidst such neighbourliness, expectations of a jolly local pub are raised high. After our most recent visit to the area, we're glad to say we encountered it - and it's recent brush with closure and conversion into more flats appears to have been averted thanks to a local celebrity campaign, which is great news. There's a mix of chairs and couches, a decent range of drinks and a selection of toasted sandwiches to enjoy. Things are also helped along by the friendly staff and punters. The secluded sunken garden at the back is a nice little place for the summer (even if the generator occasionally whirrs into action), and a real fire means winter times are adequately covered too. A neighbourly little boozer then; worth the wander from Kentish Town to track down.
